Grant Opportunities
The following information details our current and upcoming grant opportunities supporting cultural sector individuals, organizations, and Massachusetts communities.  Please take a minute to review, apply, and share these funding opportunities with your creative networks. If you have already applied to one or more programs - thank you!

We have indicated if the grant is for individuals and/or organizations. Depending on the program, "organizations" may include cultural organizations, non-profits, schools, cities/towns, unincorporated groups or collaboratives, for-profits, etc. Visit the program guidelines for detailed eligibility information and to apply.

Creative Projects for Schools
OPEN NOW / Deadline: October 10, 2024
Who can apply: Organizations
NEW: An expansion of STARS Residencies, this program offers grants of $5,000 for school-based projects that foster creative learning experiences in the arts, sciences, and humanities for K-12 students.

Local Cultural Council Program
OPEN NOW / DEADLINE: October 16, 2024
Who can apply: Individuals and Organizations

Every community in Massachusetts is served by a Local Cultural Council (LCC), led by municipally appointed volunteers who administer an annual grant program to support local cultural projects. Individuals, groups, and organizations may apply. Grant amounts vary and applications are submitted directly to each LCC.

Grants For Creative Individuals
OPEN NOW / DEADLINE: October 24, 2024
Who can apply: Individuals 
This program aims to equitably advance creative expression throughout the Commonwealth with unrestricted grants to Massachusetts artists, culture bearers, and creative individuals. Grants are $5,000.

Cultural Facilities Fund (CFF)
OPENS: October 10, 2024 / DEADLINE: December 19, 2024
Who can apply: Organizations
Grants to support the acquisition, design, repair, rehabilitation, renovation, expansion, or construction of nonprofit cultural facilities. Nonprofit cultural organizations, municipalities, and colleges or universities that own or lease cultural facilities are eligible to apply. Grants range from $7,000 to $200,000. Managed in partnership with MassDevelopment.

Gaming Mitigation Fund
OPENS: November 12, 2024 / DEADLINE: January 9, 2025
Who can apply: Organizations
Grants to Massachusetts nonprofit and municipal performing arts centers to spend on touring shows or touring artist fees. Grants start at $6,000.

YouthReach
OPENS: February 2025 / DEADLINE: April 2025
Who can apply: Organizations
Grants to Creative Youth Development programs that integrate substantive out-of-school arts, humanities, and science opportunities into a collaborative community response to the needs of youth.

Operating Grants for Organizations
OPENS: February 2025 / DEADLINE: April 2025
Who can apply: Organizations
Unrestricted general operating grants for Massachusetts-based, nonprofit cultural organizations with year-round operations offering public programming in the arts, humanities, or sciences. Grants start at $6,000.

Creative Experiences
Opens: March 2025 / Deadline: April 2025
Who can apply: Organizations
NEW: Grants to organizations (including schools) to fund festivals, projects, residencies, and other cultural activities in the arts, humanities, and sciences. This program combines Festivals & Projects and Creative Projects for Schools into one program.

If your organization is led by and serves Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), Latinx, Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander, and all other ethnicities of color — complete this self-identification form in advance of completing your grant application and help ensure that our BIPOC constituents are being more equitably served.
