Working Band - Workshop

Tuition

$25-30

Start Date

Saturday, December 7th

Duration

12-3 PM

In this workshop, musicians will learn about the basic elements of representing their band or project to venues, festivals, and events. Topics covered will range from audio/visual assets, biography writing, crafting a pitch, and performance market strategy. If musicians have already begun to build assets (bio, EPK, photos, demos, etc.), they should plan to bring these along with them for workshopping, as well as a notebook or a device to take notes with.

About the instructor: Hi, I’m Lily Sexton. I’m a fiddler, singer and songwriter, and have been performing professionally for eight years. Having represented my band in many capacities over the years, my roles have included: tour manager, booking agent, graphic designer, chief strategist and producer, as well as the many creative aspects of the job. Through the tribulations of wearing many hats, I’ve built a bevy of skills and wisdom that I’m excited to pass along to other musicians who are ready to work.

$30 per person ($25 for Parlor Room members, current NCMC students, or EBT/WIC cardholders)

This workshop will take place at The Parlor Room on Saturday December 7th, from 12-3PM
