Grant Opportunities
The following information details our current and upcoming grant opportunities supporting cultural sector individuals, organizations, and Massachusetts communities. We have indicated if the grant is for individuals and/or organizations. Depending on the program "organizations" may include cultural organizations, nonprofits, schools, cities/towns, unincorporated groups or collaboratives, for-profits, etc. Visit the program guidelines for detailed eligibility information and to apply.
Operating Grants for Organizations
OPEN NOW / DEADLINE: April 17, 2025
Who can apply: Organizations
Unrestricted general operating grants for Massachusetts-based, nonprofit cultural organizations with year-round operations offering public programming in the arts, humanities, or sciences. Grants start at $6,000.
Creative Experiences
OPENS: March 4, 2025 / DEADLINE: April 30, 2025
Who can apply: Organizations
NEW: Grants of $2,500 or $5,000 to organizations (including schools) to fund festivals, projects, residencies, and other cultural activities in the arts, humanities, and sciences. This program combines Festivals & Projects and Creative Projects for Schools into one program.
YouthReach
OPENS: Early 2026
Who can apply: Organizations
Mass Cultural Council has been working on redesigning and consolidating programs as part of the Agency’s strategic plan. While we had hoped to reopen YouthReach for FY26 funding, due to program changes, realignment of grant cycles, and staff changes, we will have decided to delay the reopening for one year.

Arts, humanities, and science organizations participating in this voluntary program offer free or steeply discounted admission to EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare cardholders.
BIPOC-Centered Organization Self-Identification
Rolling Deadline
Who can apply: Organizations
If your organization is led by and serves Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC), Latinx, Asian, Native American, Pacific Islander, and all other ethnicities of color — complete this self-identification form in advance of completing your grant application and help ensure that our BIPOC constituents are being more equitably served.
Open Call for Grant Reviewers
Rolling Deadline
Who can apply: Individuals
Mass Cultural Council contracts with people in the cultural sector to review applications to our grant programs. If you are interested in serving as a reviewer, please complete a Reviewer Registration Form in our Grants Management System (GMS). If you completed the form in the past, feel free to edit your form to ensure it is up to date.
