Pamela Acosta Hernández is a Mexican painter, illustrator, and occasional animator from the borderlands along the Rio Grande Valley, currently living and working in Northampton, Massachusetts. She often finds inspiration in literature and nature. She draws on dreams of flourishing inner lives and creates visual narratives about a myriad of beings, quests and the symbiotic relationships formed between beings and their environments, exploring how we construct, transform and are transmuted by our surroundings. Her work is characterized by figurative narratives explored through visual poetry and magical realism.
Pamela Acosta Hernández es una pintora, ilustradora y ocasionalmente animadora mexicana originaria de la frontera a lo largo del valle del río grande. Actualmente reside en Northampton, Massachusetts. Frecuentemente encuentra inspiración en la literatura y la naturaleza. Extrae de sueños de florecientes vidas internas y crea narrativas visuales de una miríada de seres, búsquedas y las relaciones simbióticas formadas entre seres y los ambientes en los que se encuentran, explorando cómo construimos, transformamos, y somos transmutados por nuestros alrededores. Su obra se caracteriza por narrativas exploradas através de poesía visual y realismo mágico.
